Land's End FeelGood Sweaters feel good in two ways: they're soft and comfy & they're helping homeless families

On September 1st, Land's End will launch their Land's End FeelGood Campaign. For the campaign, which will run September through December, Land's End will donate signature FeelGood yarn to One Heart Foundation's Warming Families (www.warmingfamilies.com), a nationwide knitting charity, for every Land's End FeelGood sweater purchased. Land's End expects to donate thousands of pounds of yarn to Warming Families chapters where volunteers plan to knit up to 25,000 hats to warm homeless and displaced families and individuals all over the country this winter.

 There are four Land's End FeelGood sweater styles, two of which are the FeelGood V-neck Striped Cardigan sweater and the FeelGood V-neck Cable Cardigan sweater. Both styles come in XS-XL and also petite and plus sizes. These sweaters are cozy, soft sweaters made of yarn that can be worn everywhere. They're great for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. They both have knit pockets and come down to the hips. They also have a slightly fitted look that's still roomy and comfortable. Bristols 6's Hem Tape for denim alters jean for a quick fix (Includes a Hem Tape pack giveaway!)

Bristols 6's Hem Tape from hemtape.com for denim alters jeans quickly and acts as a temporary tailor. The altering requires no ironing, scissors, or stitching -- just the tape itself. The hem tape is applied to the bottom of jeans and is concealed from view after hemming. The tape helps you customize, hem, or tailor jeans for wear so you can try out new styles before making any permanent changes to the denim. This double stick hem tape is great for switching from heels to flats on-the-go or turning long jeans into capris for hot weather. The tape can also tailor too-long jeans so they don't drag on the ground. The tape works for skinny, straight, bootcut, classic, and wide leg jeans, and can even be used on non-denim fabric pants, skirts, and shorts.

The hem tape makes a clean, smooth hem and does not leave behind sticky residue or marks on the fabric. The directions say to take off jeans and fold them inside-out to apply the tape, but I found that you can easily use the tape without even taking the jeans off. But be careful to remove the tape before washing, drying, or ironing your jeans!!

This tape changes the look and style of jeans without permanently altering them, so you can wear the same pair of jeans at different lengths for multiple new looks! It's a great way to get more out of your jeans for different occasions, places, and styles; you can mix it up and experiment. YOU become the designer. Jeans can be shortened or cuffed by rolling them and then using the tape. The tape is also handy to have in your purse to repair fallen hems as you go and it stays in place for the rest of the day.

Each packet of hem tape costs $12.00 (not bad) and comes with 18 strips, which measure 1.5" x 3".The hem tape is white and rectangular with double sides. A clear layer on one side must be peeled off the tape to apply it to fabric. 

The hem tape works for a quick-fix, an experimental look, or just a change-up. It stays put and sticks to fabric without leaving marks or residue behind, so you don't have to worry; you can be creative and mix up the look of your jeans again and again!

Nicole by Nicole Miller Handbag is fashionable AND functional

The Kerri Satchel Nicole by Nicole Miller handbag is the perfect size to tote whatever I need. The bag also comes in a bold, summery, hot pink. It has a soft, leather feel, outside pockets, and inside compartments. There is a zipper pocket in the back for small papers and two mini magnetically-closing pockets in the front. The roomy inside of the bag zips closed and contains a zipper pocket and three flat, side compartments.Though the bag is boxy, it is comfortable to wear and can hold a large stack of papers, materials, or other items. The bag also comes with a removable metal key chain with an "n" for Nicole and a circular pattern.

I love the multiple compartments and the showy, (unfunctional) buckles that give the bag flair. Although the buckles aren't functional, the bag itself is durable and practical for everyday needs. I know I like to fit a thin sweater, a water bottle, papers, and maybe a snack (or two) into my bag for wherever I go, and this bag has room enough to do it without being too bulky!

My one complaint is the excessive placement of "n's" on the bag and the large metal plaque reading "Nicole." It is nice to show off a brand or designer you love, but not when the name looks like it's supposed to be your own! I do like the name Nicole...but there are reminders of it all over this bag, making it feel like it's really supposed to be, well, Nicole's!
